PAT Testing – Portable appliance testing – the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use.
HSE – Health and Safety Executive – the body responsible for the encouragement, regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety and welfare, and for research into occupational risks in England and Wales and Scotland.
IET – The Institution of Engineering and Technology – Formed by the joining together of the IEE ( Institution of Electrical Engineers) and the IIE (Institution of Incorporated Engineers)
